Allow me to introduce your inspiring space for growth with Expressive Arts and Therapeutic Play: Pod Studio is situated squarely in the middle of a beautiful desert country.
More often than not, deserts are perceived to be hostile, barren environments where not much will survive or grow.
Yet, even the endless expanses of sandy dunes here are home to many fascinating creatures and plants. The desert is indeed alive. You just need to know how to look!
This is the Pod philosophy: Growth is possible even under difficult circumstances, and hidden potential merely needs a careful and patient observer.
Who is Silke?
I’m your careful and patient observer, co-creator and journey facilitator ☺
Furthermore, I'm a Namibian artist with a background that blends creativity, education, and mental health. I have decades of experience teaching fine arts and art history at all levels in both formal and private settings.
Throughout this time, I also facilitated countless expressive arts programs and workshops, and regularly exhibited my own artworks.
My most recent career as a school counselor inspired my next professional journey: training to be a play therapist. Pod Studio will be incorporating this new service within the next year!
Long before my career in teaching, facilitation, and counseling, my own art practice became the starting point of my own journey of healing and growth.
Expressing, reflecting, and at times transforming inner worlds and life experiences through painting was a way for me to come to terms with loss and grief.
I discovered my unique language beyond words, which expressed my truth and made meaning of my journey. Sharing this process with others gives me great joy and fulfillment, and I am constantly in awe of it’s power and beauty.
My commitment as your partner in the extraordinary adventure that is expressive arts and therapeutic play is to guide you with unconditional acceptance and gentle encouragement.
